Description:
By reflecting on the body of work created throughout level 6, in particular the Major Project, this unit enables you to build the specific knowledge and skills to further your own personal and career aspirations.

You will be guided in your reflection up your work and you will be assisted in personal planning for employment or postgraduate opportunities. You will also be advised on interviews, presentation, portfolios and showreels.

Outline Syllabus:
An indicative guide to the content covered by this unit.
• Documentation and reflection upon level 6 body of work in particular the Major Project
• Personal planning and presentation.
• Professional and commercial context
• Targeting and preparing the showreel and portfolio
• Knowledge of relevant financial, business and legal matters

Method of Delivery:
Lectures, seminars, discussions, group and individual tutorials.

Aims:
A1 To foster an increasing self-awareness in personal planning and development .

A2 To increase your confidence and develop personal presentation skills.

A3 To promote reflective and professional practice in showreel and portfolio selection, in personal presentation, and in the production of other promotional materials, such as CVs and business cards.

A4 To consolidate awareness and knowledge of financial, business and legal matters relevant to your future

Learning Outcomes:
On completion of the unit you will be able to:

LO1 Understand and employ appropriate strategies for the professional targeting and presentation of your work to potential employers or other parties who may be interested in it.

LO2 Present yourself and your skills effectively.

LO3 Be able to locate your work within an appropriate professional and commercial context

LO4 Demonstrate your awareness of knowledge of financial, business and legal matters relevant to your future.

A 2000 word evaluation focusing on the direction of your personal planning and development supported by relevant promotional materials (including showreel, CV, etc)

Put together a career plan and a corresponding portfolio and CV, write a report that describes the rational behind the plan and how the CV and portfolio meet it.

Reflect on you work and skills and motivations with particular refrence to the work at level 6.
